The best sandwich in Tarpon Springs is calling your taste buds by name. Savoring every bite, chew and swallow, everyone should have the pleasure to try an item from this menu at least once. My husband and I were shopping for our Amazon business at the consignment shop when we were told that we had to go next door for lunch. Never turning down a recommendation, that sounded like the perfect idea.
Muzzie’s Ice Cream and Sandwiches in Tarpon Springs, FL is definitely worth the hype. The menu was extensive, and everything made my mouth water with anticipation. Luckily our friends next door at the consignment shop (Nina and Josh) raved about the pulled pork sandwich and the Muzzie’s wrap. Excuse me while I take a moment of silence to remember the best flavors that danced around on my tongue… Hold on, I need another minute.
The restaurant felt so comfortable. So don’t be alarmed when you see a stuffed cow, a life-sized poster of John Wayne, or the Christmas tree still tucked away in the corner (granted, we visited in mid-January, I would still have my tree up as well!). It was all perfect for great conversation pieces.
Back to the food, that’s what you want to know about right? Agreed. But first (lol) my husband and I ordered and waited for our food to be prepared and delivered to our table. While waiting, I happened to notice a poster that hung right next to our table (pictured below). That explains the Christian Contemporary Music that played as background noise. I felt right at home, well… very comforted and in good hands.
Oh… right, back to the food.
Our lunch arrived, and it was very worth the wait of approximately 15 minutes. I forgot to take a picture of the food untouched, so ignore the bites. It was really that incredible and juicy, and had to be devoured immediately.
Above is a picture of probably the best sandwich you will ever try for pulled pork. The meat was so tender and flavorful paired with the crunchy sweetness of cole slaw. Also the bread is baked fresh everyday… smitten.
And here is the best steak wrap with cream cheese, peppers, onions and mushrooms… Reminded me of a Philly Cheesesteak, but in a wrap and minus the cheese wiz.
Writing this makes me hungry all over again… We also ordered the hand-cut fries with two sauces. The lighter colored one (more cream colored) is Greek, and the darker one is Chipotle. Can you tell which one we loved more?
If our little princess was there with us (thank goodness for school aged kids), she would have ran straight to the table and chairs just the right size for her. Looks like she made the cut off age requirement lol
There were so many other foods on the menu that we must go back and try. The “self induced cavity section” included appealing chocolate desserts that looked like it would send you off into pure euphoria. This is absolutely hands down a place where you will find the best sandwich in Tarpon Springs.
